Spanish content producer and distributor DeAPlaneta Entertainment has appointed Carlos Biern as content and distribution director of the kids & family division.
Reporting directly to chief brand officer Diego Ibañez, Biern will be tasked with growing the division’s portfolio of animated series with original productions, co-productions and acquisitions and positioning the brand on TV channels and OTT platforms globally.
He will work to expand DeAPlaneta Entertainment’s reach into new and growing markets in both production and distribution, with particular focus on digital IPs targeting young audiences, plus VOD platforms and immersive environments.
The firm is behind children’s and family brands including Miraculous Ladybug, Milo, Gormiti, Heidi and Maya the Bee.
Biern is the former President of DIBOOS (the Spanish Federation of Animation and Visual Effects Producers, while over the past decade, he has led creative and commercial, audiovisual, digital, interactive and merchandising teams at animation companies including BRB Internacional and Toonz Media Group.
“Our mission will be to create and identify major successes capable of merging digital and the latest creative trends, without ever losing sight of our core interactive audience,” said Biern.
