London TV Screenings reveals attendance numbers & confirms 2023 event
The distributors behind The London TV Screenings have claimed that more than 500 buyers attended the first ever in-person iteration of the event, with execs from around the world flying into the UK capital.
Organisers All3Media International, Banijay Rights, eOne, Fremantle and ITV Studios were joined by an array of smaller firms including StudioCanal, Blue Ant International, DCD Rights and Hat Trick International in hosting a week-long series of screenings and panels.
The event marked the first on-the-ground gathering for the UK-based distributors after the 2021 event went virtual as a result of the pandemic.
Organisers said clients from Africa, Australia, China, the Middle East, the US and across Europe attended events, which ran from 28 February to 4 March.
A spokesperson said “top level buyers from around the world” had been in London for the event, confirming that the event would be back in 2023.
All3, Banijay, eOne, Fremantle and ITVS have worked together informally for several years to ensure their respective sales and screenings events do not clash, but the formation of the London TV Screenings brand last year marked the first time the quintuplet had formally joined forces.
The week-long series of events, which took place at the same time as BBC Studios’ online-only Showcase event, featured world premiere screenings and sessions around scripted, non-scripted and formats.
