UK’s C4 orders Eagle Eye remake of Danish drama ‘Forhøret’

Forhøret

Channel 4 (C4) in the UK has commissioned an eight-part crime thriller based on Miso Film’s Danish series Forhøret.

The UK version, known as Suspect (working title), is from Eagle Eye Drama (Before We Die, Professor T). It will be directed by Dries Vos (Professor T) and produced by Ed King (His House), with Matt Baker writing.

The show will film this autumn with Eagle Eye’s Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino as executive producers.

Fremantle, which owns Miso Film, will distribute globally, with the show starring James Nesbitt (Bloodlands), Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck), Anne-Marie Duff (Sex Education) and Richard E. Grant (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker).

The 8 x 30-minute drama follows a veteran detective who runs a routine ID check on a young woman’s body and finds out it his estranged daughter. Unwilling to accept the cause of death as suicide, he sets out on a mission for the truth, retracing her last days and hours.

It marks the latest C4 scripted series to come from Eagle Eye, whose first production, Before We Die, aired earlier this year on the UK pubcaster.

Caroline Hollick, C4’s head of drama who commissioned the series, described the show as a “gripping, visceral thriller” with “a sensationally stellar ensemble cast.”

McGrath, chief creative officer at Eagle Eye Drama, commented: “Suspect (w/t) has a distinctive narrative architecture which is both incredibly intimate and very intense, which represents an exciting challenge for any actor and I’m sure that’s one of the reasons we have attracted such a high calibre, talented cast.”

Eagle Eye Drama is the London-based production company, founded by the team behind global drama brand Walter Presents. Its slate also includes Hotel Portofino for ITV and BritBox, as well as Professor T and Clown.
