Kids round-up: Ellipsanime & TimpelPictures partner for spooky adventure; ‘Presto!’ goes global
Ellipsanime & TimpelPictures partner for spooky adventure
French studios Ellipsanime Productions and TimpelPictures are in development on Under The School – the first original animated series from Little Spirou director Nicolas Bary.
The 26 x 26-minute spooky adventure spooky series is in 2D-rendered 3D animation and aimed at 7- to 12-year-olds. It raises the curtain on the hidden face of a unique boarding school, whose teaching methods have made world’s worst dunces the world’s best students.
The project is due to be presented at Cartoon Forum next week.
Through their adventures, the heroes and heroines have to learn how to trust each other and surpass themselves. It is a series where the children learn to bend the school’s strict rules to learn in a different way”, said Ellipsanime producer Arthur Colignon.
Presto! goes global
Broadcasters across the world have picked up French prodco TeamTO’s animated comedy Presto! School Of Magic, following a slew of deals with distributor Federation Kids & Family.
The 52 x 11-minute series, which was produced with M6 and TéléTOON+, has been acquired by Discovery in Latin America, RTS in Switzerland, Showmax in Africa, NRK in Norway and Quebecor in French-speaking Canada.
Based on Studiocanal’s feature The House Of Magic, the series features a band of talented and curious kids who dream of becoming magicians.
Monica Levy, head of sales at Federation Kids & Family, commented: “This multi-faceted effervescent series has so many entertaining and exciting elements guaranteed to entertain kids and families the world over.
“Literally upon presentation, sales were (almost) instant, and so far, we are delighted to announce these broadcaster deals and look forward to finalizing further sales over the coming months as Presto! continues to spread its magic.”
