Bell Media’s former content chief Mike Cosentino has launched a new production outfit and struck a deal that will see it working with Fremantle on new programming from Canada.

CosMediaInc will look to uncover, support and deliver Canadian productions to global audiences, working with Fremantle on both scripted and unscripted IP.

The deal comes six months after an exec restructuring to focus on streaming, which saw Cosentino depart alongside president of distribution & pay Tracey Pearce and Nanci MacLean, VP of Bell Media Studios.

Cosentino had been with Bell for more than 20 years, overseeing shows such as Letterkenny, Transplant and Cardinal, among a slew of others.

He had been responsible for all programming for CTV, CTV2, and the CTV branded networks such as CTV Drama, as well as overseeing originals for streamer Crave TV and operations at Bell Media Studios.

Michela DiMondo, EVP of distribution & sales at Fremantle, said: “With his exceptional production relationships, Cosentino is well positioned to support our vision to partner with Canadian producers to deliver their amazing content to an international audience. We’re excited to be working together.”

Cosentino, who is MD of CosMediaInc, added: “I welcome the opportunity to work with Michela and the Fremantle team to support their vision and investment in local producers to put great Canadian programming on the global stage.”
