Netflix orders Arnold Schwarzenegger spy drama, marking actor’s first series move
Netflix has picked up a spy drama starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, marking the Hollywood A-lister’s first TV project.
The untitled show is described as a “scripted global spy adventure”, which is being produced by Skydance Television and Nick Santora. Schwarzenegger stars opposite Monica Barbaro.
The story follows a father and daughter who learn that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA Operatives for years. They are then forced to team up as partners, with the series tackling family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humour.
The 8 x 60-minute show has been created and developed by showrunner Santora (Jack Reacher), who has an overall deal with Skydance Television.
Schwarzenegger said: “Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they’re finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix. I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with Nick and Monica and the whole team.”
