Wheelhouse Entertainment grows in-house creative team with exec trio

L-R: Chelsey Trowbridge, Janell Coles-English and Wally Parks

US production company Wheelhouse Entertainment has expanded its in-house production and creative team, with the appointment of former All3Media America, Discovery and Truly Original execs.

Wally Parks has been hired as EVP of production, joining Wheelhouse having served in the same role at All3Media America, as well as Studio Lambert and Tijuana Entertainment before that.

Janell Coles-English joins as SVP of business and legal affairs from Discovery Studios, where she was VP of business and legal affairs and previously headed the business and legal affairs teams at Animal Planet.

Chelsey Trowbridge, meanwhile, boards Wheelhouse as SVP of post-production, having previously served as VP of post-production at Truly Original. Before that, she served as VP of production at Original Media.

Launched in 2018 by Brent Montgomery, in partnership with Jimmy Kimmel, Wheelhouse Entertainment encompasses Kimmelot, Spoke Studios, Campfire and Portal A.

“While Wheelhouse Entertainment began with specific focus on our original content slate and partnerships with top talent, it has always been our intent to scale and produce the majority of our own projects,” said Wheelhouse CCO and president Eric Wattenberg.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Wally, Janell and Chelsey, a collective force and the perfect team to lead production at Wheelhouse.”

Last year, Wheelhouse struck an exclusive overall deal with Adam Levine, the frontman of band Maroon 5, and optioned the US rights to French outfit Newen Distribution’s primetime entertainment format The Wonderbox.
