News round-up: Insight TV lands on Pluto TV; SPI channels head to Germany & Russia; Love Nature expands in Lat Am

Insight TV heads to Pluto TV

UHD broadcaster Insight TV has launched three of its channels on ViacomCBS-owned AVOD Pluto TV in the UK and Germany as both continue their accelerated growth.

The millennial-focused broadcaster has brought three of its channels to the service: lifestyle channel Insight TV; action-focused channel InTrouble; and science/technology/knowledge channel InWonder.

Key titles offered by the channels include competition series Ultimate Goal (on Insight TV), investigation series Epic Exploring (on InWonder) and action-filled Inside Masters Of Dirt (on InTrouble).

The three channels add to a growing number available on Pluto TV, with the AVOD offering more than 100 linear channels in the UK and more than 75 in DACH countries. Both nations also have access to an extensive on-demand library.

Rasit Kutlubay, director of distribution and business development, Insight TV said: “As Pluto TV expands across Europe, Insight TV is proud to be among the brands available to its growing number of registered users.

“Our deal with Pluto TV is an example of the flexibility we have when working with global platforms. Whether its linear or digital channels, or a branded on-demand experience, Insight TV has the ability to deliver a language localised, high-quality, engaging viewer experience.”

The deal comes days after Insight TV announced a similar arrangement with mobile streamer Huawei Video to offer the primary Insight TV channel along with short-form network InShort.

SPI channels head to Germany & Russia

Global media company SPI/Filmbox has secured new deals to bring some of its channels to Russia and Germany.

SPI’s Timeless Dizi Channel, which is dedicated to a unique genre of series produced in Turkey, has landed on the Telekarta satellite TV service this week through its long-standing partnership with the Orion Group.

Viewers in Russia will be able to watch hundreds of hours of scripted drama including Kurt Seyit And Shura, Karadayi and Five Brothers.

The company has also made seven of its channels available to subscribers on German IPTV platform Waipu.tv as part of the Perfect Plus package, with offerings including FilmBox Arthouse, Gametoon HD, FightBox HD, Fast&FunBox HD, DocuBox HD, FashionBox and 360 TuneBox.

Georgina Twiss, MD Western Europe & Africa at SPI International, commented: “Together with the Waipu.tv team, we selected a strong range of channels from our portfolio to complement the needs of their subscribers and we believe that our channels will be great additions to Waipu.tv’s content offer, and their new Perfect Plus package.
