Pluto TV breaks 100-channel barrier in UK
ViacomCBS-owned AVOD service Pluto TV has added two new “theme-specific” channels – Secret Dealers and Crime Investigation Australia – to its portfolio, bringing the total numbers of channels on offer to 101 in the UK.
Secret Dealers is dedicated to broadcasting the game show of the same name, originally produced by RDF Television West for the UK’s ITV. It follows homeowners as they are faced with the dilemma of either selling or keeping their valuable, but sentimental, family heirlooms.
Crime Investigation Australia, meanwhile, will show episodes of the true crime series from Graham McNeice Productions, which originally aired on Foxtel’s Crime & Investigation Network. The series is touted as “the ultimate destination for true crime” and delves into the details of terrible crimes that shocked Australia.
“Since launching a year and a half ago with only 13 channels in the UK, 100 channels was a first goal to offer viewers a healthy, diverse line-up,” said Olivier Jollet, MD Europe at Pluto TV. “I am very proud of our team and thank our content and distribution partners as we continue to bring unique channels to UK viewers.”
Pluto TV launched in October 2018 in the UK, which was its first territory outside of the US. It is currently available in the UK via Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Now TV and in the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
