Former A+E Networks veteran Sean Cohan has emerged in a new role at data measurement firm Nielsen, just over a year since joining Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment.

Cohan becomes chief growth officer and international president at Nielsen, having spent 15 years at A+E Networks, latterly as president of international and digital media.

During his time with the company, he supervised the company’s brands, services and content outside the US and managed US domestic digital activities and services.

He then joined Wheelhouse in 2019 as its new president, working closely with Montgomery and chief strategy officer Ed Simpson. His remit included overseeing content and marketing opportunities for the company across multiple businesses and platforms, as well as working across talent and brand for the company.

Cohan will oversee the growth strategy, partnerships, corporate and business development for Nielsen, as well as its international businesses.

His arrival is one of three additions for Nielsen, which has also added Karthik Rao as chief operating officer. Rao has spent 20 years at Nielsen across a range of its businesses, most recently as CEO of Gracenote. As COO he will be responsible for driving a global product-driven technology transformation.

Peter Bradbury has been promoted to US chief commercial officer having spent 24 years with the company, most recently working on the company’s commercial efforts across TV, radio, digital, local tv and social media.

David Kenny, CEO of Nielsen, said: “These appointments illustrate the commitment we have to building out a rigorous and forward looking business dedicated to one media truth and the belief that a transparent, unified independent view of the total audience will help the entire ecosystem succeed and thrive in this evolving landscape. These appointments set us up well for the future.”
