Ovation TV’s ‘Inside The Actors Studio’ reboot shapes up with Greta Gerwig, Alfre Woodard

Ovation TV’s reboot of Inside The Actors Studio is shaping up.

The US arts network will feature Oscar-nominated director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) as host, interviewing Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Laura Dern.

Tony Award nominee LaTanya Richardson Jackson is also set to interview Emmy Award-winning actor Alfre Woodard.

Dern stars as “Marmee March” in Gerwig’s upcoming film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women, which will be released on Christmas Day. Meanwhile, Jackson and Woodard most recently starred together in the Netflix Original film Juanita directed by Clark Johnson.

Elsewhere, Alec Baldwin will also interview Henry Winkler.

Produced by Triage Entertainment, the new season of the iconic programme – which is currently filming at New York’s Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University – debuts on Ovation TV on 13 October.

Ovation TV swooped for rights to the programme, which previously aired on Bravo, last year. It reimagined the format, with a revolving set of hosts for the various guests.

The channel holds exclusive linear and digital rights in the US to new episodes. It also holds international rights to the episodes, and will also curate content from the series’ extensive library for additional episodes.

Since its inception, more than 200 actors and directors have been featured on Inside The Actors Studio, including Jessica Chastain, Sally Field, Brad Pitt, Sidney Pollack, Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie.

The series has received 20 Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Informational Series or Special category, ultimately winning in 2013.
