Netflix to put away ‘Trinkets’ but strikes ‘Big Mouth’ deal
Netflix is bringing the curtain down on Trinkets, its show based on Kirsten Smith’s young adult novel, but ordered three more seasons of animation Big Mouth.
Trinkets will end after its forthcoming second season, which the streamer confirmed on Monday. Sarah Goldfinger is attached as showrunner for the 10-episode run, with the final season launching in 2020.
The show is from AwesomenessTV and is written by Smith, who also executive produces with Amy Andelson, Emily Meyer and Goldfinger. It follows two girls who form an unlikely friendship.
Meanwhile, Netflix has also struck a multi-year deal with Brutus Pink, the production division launched by Big Mouth (pictured) creators Nick Kroll, Jennifer Flackett, Andrew Goldberg and Mark Levin.
The deal will see the prodco creating shows and movies for the streamer, as well as a further three seasons of adult-skewing animated sitcom Big Mouth.
