Icon Films rejigs senior management

UK indie Icon Films has rejigged its senior team with newly defined roles for co-founders Harry and Laura Marshall and Stephen McQuillan.

Harry Marshall (pictured right) will now take on the role of chairman, with Laura Marshall, formerly MD, stepping in as CEO.

McQuillan (pictured left), formerly head of factual, has been promoted to creative director.

Harry Marshall, the co-creator of factual hits River Monsters and Primal Survivor, will focus on environmental projects.

McQuillan, creator of Legend Hunter and Andrew Marr: My Brain and Me will assume day to day responsibility for development and production across Icon Films’ broad range of programming, working closely with head of development Matthew Clifton, who joined the company in October 2018.

McQuillan said: “I’m incredibly excited about becoming creative director at Icon Films at time when everything is aligned for us to build on our existing track record, both in the UK and US”.

Laura Marshall added: “This restructure supports the growth of the company and its key personnel to allow us to take advantage of the thriving UK and International media landscape – I’m really looking forward to working with Harry and Stephen in their new roles”.
