HBO set for adaptation of Lindelhof’s Watchmen
HBO has ordered the adaptation of Damon Lindelhof’s Watchmen.
Watchmen is set in an alternate history where superheroes are treated as outlaws.
HBO said that it would embrace the nostalgia of the original graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own in the series.
Lindelhof will act as executive producer and writer. He will be joined by Nicole Kassell, who will act as executive producer and pilot director, and Tom Spezialy who will exec produce.
Stephen Williams will direct and executive produce alongside Joseph Iberti who is also exec producer for the title.
Watchmen is produced for HBO by White Rabbit, in association with Warner Bros. Television and based on characters from DC comics.
The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, and Don Johnson.
