Sky brings in Marvel’s Inhumans for UK & Ireland
Pay TV channel Sky 1 has brought in Marvel’s Inhumans for this autumn, making it the only place to watch the series in the UK and Ireland.
Marvel’s Inhumans follows the Royal Family of Inhumans after they are splintered by a military coup and escape to Hawaii.
Marvel’s Inhumans is executive produced by Scott Buck (Dexter, Marvel’s Iron Fist) along with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones) and Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones) with Buck serving as showrunner. Roel Reinè (The Delivery, Black Sails) directed the first two episodes.
This series is a Marvel and IMAX project and is coproduced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
The acquisition was negotiated by Lucy Criddle, Sky’s head of acquisitions and distributor Disney UK & Ireland.
Dayna Donaldson, general manager of media distribution at Disney UK & Ireland, said: “Marvel storytelling is on a cinematic scale – and Inhumans‘ production values certainly live up to this.
“The series has created buzz from right back at its inception, and we’re excited to be working with Sky 1 to launch Marvel’s Inhumans to its viewers, following its preview on IMAX, a world first in television.”
