Hulu adds 3,000 episodes of classic TV
Hulu is set to add near 3,000 episodes of classic shows after expanded agreements with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution.
The US streaming service will add hit comedies, dramas and iconic series such as How I Met Your Mother, Bones and Glee. Some shows have been added and others will follow in coming weeks.
The agreement will also see Hulu gain a back catalog of older shows such as M*A*S*H and NYPD Blue.
The deal follows the announcement of an expanded agreement between Hulu and 20th Century Fox Television Distribution that added top animated comedies from the studio to Hulu, including Bob’s Burgers, as well as hit series American Dad!, Futurama, and The Cleveland Show.
Through several previous agreements, Hulu is the exclusive subscription streaming video on-demand home of popular 20th Century Fox titles including this year’s drama series, This Is Us, as well as hits Fresh Off the Boat, Empire, The Last Man on Earth and Homeland.
Hulu has been making up ground against American SVOD market leaders Netflix and Amazon in recent months.
