DRG scores drama prodco deal
UK-based distributor DRG has scored a drama deal with Scottish prodco Synchronicity Films.
The exclusive distribution deal will see the MTG-owned company selling Synchronicity shows internationally.
This comes after DRG launched Atrium TV, a drama business aimed at creating high-end drama deals through international coproductions.
Synchornicity currently has six-part series The Cry on its slate, which is a psychological thriller that’s been in development with UK pubcaster the BBC.
Former CBBC Scotland chief Claire Mundell launched Synchronicity.
DRG’s Noel Hedges, DRG;s executive VP of content of acquisitions, said: “Claire and her team have established Synchronicity as an exciting and ambitious creative haven for writers and talent in the UK and US. They have superb relationships throughout the scripted world and as one can see from their slate, they have a keen eye for spotting great stories for the screen.
“DRG is delighted to be working with this very talented team and to bring its content into our expanding drama catalogue. We are confident that the productions in development will really make a mark on the international stage and successfully help feed the current high demand for big, bold, original drama.”
