eOne brings in CMT exec for alternative
Entertainment One Television has hired Julia Silverton from US cable channel CMT as senior VP, development of alternative programming.
Based out of LA, she will lead development efforts for a unit whose shows include the recently-announced Fuse series The Hollywood Puppet Show (WT).
Silverton (pictured) joins from Viacom’s CMT, where she was VP, development, ushering a line-up of shows such as Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge and launching the network’s scripted department.
At eOne, she’ll work closely with Mark Herwick, SVP, current, alternative programming and the recently-promoted Benjamin Megargel, who is VP, development.
Silverton will report to Tara Long, executive VP, alternative programming, who said: “Julia’s background and talent as a showrunner and development executive will be an invaluable asset as we continue to grow eOne’s alternative programming slate.”
Prior to CMT, Silverton worked as a showrunner for more than ten years, having begun her career in the UK. “The year ahead is shaping up to be incredibly dynamic and I’m ready to hit the ground running as we take our slate to the next level,” she said.
