Gardner to landscape Paramount Network

YoungerTV Land development executive Brad Gardner has landed a promotion, and will work on original programming for upcoming US general entertainment channel Paramount Network.

Gardner is currently senior VP of development and original programming at second tier Viacom cable channel TV Land, and has now added the soon-to-launch Paramount Network to his duties.

His boss, Keith Cox, was recently promoted to president of development and production at TV Land, Paramount Network. Gardner will continue to report to Cox under the new structure.

Gardner will work alongside Ted Gold, Spike’s head of scripted programing, who is becoming SVP, development and original programming for Paramount Network.

Frank Tanki has already been promoted to general manager of TV Land, as part of restructuring that new Viacom boss Bob Bakish has instigated.

That rejig will see male-focused net Spike relaunched as Paramount Network, as Viacom focuses on building six core channels (also including Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon).

Gardner’s credits include development of recent ratings success Younger (pictured) and other series such as The Jim Gaffigan Show and Teachers. Earlier in his TV Land career, he worked on Hot in Cleveland.

“Brad has a proven track-record of developing innovative and creative programming that creates a deep connection with the audience. With a keen eye for compelling content and great talent, he will play a vital role in the growth of Paramount Network,” said Cox said.

“I am excited to have Ted on my team. He’s got a track record of success and fantastic relationships all around town.”
