Netflix checks into BBC’s Furchester Hotel

Kids-logo-460_2furchester hotel 2Netflix has acquired Sesame Workshop and CBeebies kids series The Furchester Hotel.

The puppetry-based preschool series rolls out on the streaming service today on Netflix.

The series follows goings on at a hotel run by a cast of cheerful monsters. Sesame Street favourites Elmo and Cookie Monster both appear in the show, which launched on the CBeebies digital kids net in the UK.

Sesame Workshop distributes The Furchester Hotel and struck the Netflix deal.

“We are excited to have The Furchester Hotel stream on Netflix, which reaches over 93 million members around the world,” said Scott Chambers, senior VP, North America Media and Licensing of Sesame Workshop. “Viewers will love having adventures with Elmo and Cookie Monster, along with their new friends Phoebe, Funella, and Furgus.”

Several of the international CBeebies nets also show the puppet show.
