Netflix orders trio of Dave Chappelle specials

Streaming service Netflix has ordered three comedy specials from comic Dave Chappelle.

Under terms of the agreement, Chappelle and director will produce one special, and the others will be unreleased projects – one produced through the Austin City Limits Live venue and another from the Hollywood Palladium.

“Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy – searing, vital, and now more than ever, essential,” said Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s VP of original documentary and comedy. “Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy.

This comes soon after Netflix closed a multimillion dollar with another culturally significant American comic, Chris Rock.
