Kids-logo-460_2Shu YeFrench animation studio TeamTO has established an office in Beijing, China, with feature film industry exec Shu Ye set to run it.

TeamTO already has bases in France and Los Angeles, the latter of which opened in 2011.

The Beijing base will “serve as a conduit between its own studios and established Chinese content companies”, and will aim at creating premium content for international audiences.

Shu Ye is known for her expertise in French-Chinese feature film coproductions.

“It is a real pleasure to have joined the TeamTO group,” she said. “TeamTO’s decision to enter the Chinese film market – the second biggest in the world with 6 billion euros in revenue – comes at an ideal moment.

“Chinese companies are significantly increasing investment in animated films and series, while the government is actively supporting the development of animation coproduction.”

TeamTO launched a second studio in Bourg-les-Valence, France, last year, doubling its headcount and production capacity in the process.

The company is best known for series such as Angelo Rules, PJ Masks and Rabbids Invasion.
