Netflix takes Octonauts in more territories

Kids-logo-460_2the_octonautsStreaming service Netflix has taken rights to various seasons of British preschool toon Octonauts in a number of territories.

The deal with Silvergate Media, which produces and sells the show, sees Netflix take rights to seasons one, two and three in France, Latin America and English- and French-speaking Canada. The number of seasons varies depending on the territory.

Netflix already has Octonauts in the US, where it is offered on an exclusive SVOD basis.

Octonauts has aired in more than 100 territories overall, having debuted in the UK on the BBC.

Netflix has significantly upped its slate of acquired and commissioned kids TV series in recent years.
