The Walking Dead, Daredevil in demand in UK
A new fortnightly feature from TBIVision and LA’s Parrot Analytics, in which we reveal the most in-demand shows from a specific European territory, shows Daredevil and The Walking Dead are the hottest programmes in the UK.
Ahead of the final episode of the sixth season of The Walking Dead, demand* for the show in the week on March 20-26, was almost double that of any other programme.
Every show in the list hailed from the US, with the top three coming from SVOD or cable. Fox’s Gotham, which plays on Channel 5 in the UK, was the highest-ranked network show.
ABC series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is on E4, was close behind.
On the digital front, Netflix superhero drama Marvel’s Daredevil was clearly the most popular show, with its average Demand Expressions more than three million higher than House of Cards.
It also represented the only SVOD-first series to make the overall top ten, coming in ahead of Game of Thrones, Gotham and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
*Source and methodology: Parrot Analytics assesses demand for popular shows through various ‘demand expression platforms’ including social-media and photo-sharing platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, blogging and microblogging platforms such as Tumblr, wikis and informational sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.
