Amazon creates OTT live daily show
Amazon has launched on-demand television’s first live daily show, a 30-minute programme focusing on fashion and beauty.
Style Code Live has been made available free to all viewers on a dedicated webpage, www.amazon.com/stylecodelive, with new episodes debuting on weeknights at 9pm ET/6pm PT.
Netflix announced a daily talk show with presenter and comedian Chelsea Handler in 2014, with plans to launch it this year internationally, though the series has not come to fruition yet.
This means Amazon can claim the crown of the first OTT platform to create a daily show, though the e-commerce giant has decided not to put Style Code Live behind the Prime Instant Video paywall.
Style Code Live will see presenters Lyndsey Rodrigues, Rachel Smith and Frankie Grande leading half-hours that focus on fashion, style and beauty tips. Updates will come through Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
The first episode last night featured fashion blogger Danielle Bernstein, singer Meghan Trainor, YouTube beauty star Tati Westbrook and actor Keri Russell on the red carpet.
“Style Code Live gives viewers a first-of-its-kind daily style and entertainment experience. We’re live, interactive, and covering the latest trends in fashion and beauty each weeknight – with guest experts, celebrities, and viewer tips,” said Terence Noonan, Style Code Live’s executive producer. “We are building a community and are super excited for our viewers to be part of it.”
