Netflix preps sketch comedy
Netflix is launching a sketch comedy show, The Characters.
The eight-part series will feature one comedian in each instalment.
Netflix said the featured comic will have free reign to shape their 30-minute episode how they please.
The selected comedians are: Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is The New Black, Jurassic World), Kate Berlant (The Meltdown), Dr. Brown (Dr. Brown), Paul W. Downs (Broad City), John Early (Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp), Tim Robinson (SNL), Natasha Rothwell (SNL) and Henry Zebrowski (Heroes Reborn).
The series, Netflix Presents: The Characters, will launch on Netflix on March 11, marking the first time Netflix has create a sketch series. It already produces and distrubutes various stand-up specials.
