Ben and Holly head to Russia

Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom is heading to Russia after free-to-air broadcaster Carousel bought the preschool series.

The broadcaster has bought 104x11mins of the animated show. The kids series is shopped internationally by Entertainment One, which struck the deal.

Carousel already airs eOne-distributed preschool show Peppa Pig, which like Ben and Holly, is produced by Astley Baker Davies. The UK prodco is now majority-owned by eOne.

There will be a local Ben and website and Russian licensing agent Megalicense will manage the consumer products programme for Ben and Holly in Russia and the Ukraine.

Olivier Dumont, managing director of Entertainment One Family said: “There’s a growing appetite for licensed product in this emerging market, so it’s an exciting time to extend our existing partnership with Megalicense to include Ben and Holly and we look forward to increasing the presence of our preschool portfolio in this territory.”
