Nick US buys Ben and Holly
Nickelodeon has acquired preschool animated series Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom.
The show, which is distributed by Entertainment One, comes from Astley Baker Davies, the UK prodco that makes Peppa Pig and which eOne acquired control of this week.
Viacom-owned kids channel Nickelodeon will run Ben and Holly on its preschool service Nick Jr. and it will bow on the channel next week. Peppa also runs on Nick Jr.
Olivier Dumont, managing director of eOne Family said: “We’re thrilled that the series is winning the hearts of children in so many international territories and the exposure that Nick Jr. will give the show in the US will create opportunities to further expand this preschool franchise around the world.”
Peppa is the biggest preschool hit of recent years, but Ben and Holly has also sold well internationally with 65 deals inked.
