Smart move by Canada’s Crave SVOD
Canadian SVOD service CraveTV has launched on connected TVs.
The service, which is owned by telco Bell, was previously available over the top and via Chromecast and Apple TV, but not via smart TV apps. It will now launch on Samsung connected sets.
CraveTV has deals with HBO and Showtime among others. It has almost 10,000 hours of content on its subscription platform.
In a competitive Canadian SVOD market, it lines up against Netflix and Shomi, which is run by cablers Shaw and Rogers.
“We are working hard to make CraveTV available to as many Canadians as possible, via the platform of their choice,” said Domenic Vivolo, executive VP, content sales and distribution marketing, Bell Media. “Intuitive and easy to navigate, watching CraveTV on a Samsung Smart TV is a truly enjoyable user experience.”
