Former Worlwide exec to head ABC Oz sales
Former BBC Worldwide Australia boss Tony Iffland will run distribution at Australian public broadcaster the ABC after being appointed general manager, ABC Content Sales.
Iffland joined Australia’s second public broadcaster SBS after leaving Worldwide, where he was general manager, Australia, in 2012. At SBS he was director of television.
At the ABC Iffland will run the programme sales team and expand its distribution activities.
He said: “My track record representing quality brands and content is a great fit for this ambitious business. I can’t wait to strengthen existing relationships and develop new content opportunities for the benefit of both producers and broadcast platforms, new and traditional.”
Sharon Ramsay-Luck, ABC Commercial’s head of sales & business development added: “We have prioritised the expansion and repositioning of our business over the past few years and I’ve no doubt that Tony will contribute enormously to the continuation of that growth trajectory.”
