Zodiak Kids signs Mumfie creator deal
Zodiak Kids has signed a development deal with Magic Adventures of Mumfie and Thomas & Friends creator Britt Allcroft.
The deal with Britt Allcroft Productions cover development of a new version of Mumfie, which ran for 79 episodes on CiTV in the UK and Fox Kids in the US during the 1990s and as a string puppet series in the 1970s.
Zodiak Kids Studio, which was launched earlier this year as Zodiak Media consolidated its children’s media assets, and Allcroft (pictured) will develop a new animated version of Mumfie.
Magic Adventures of Mumfie follows a travelling elephant who is joined on his escapades by a variety of animals. “It is a brand with a vast amount of heritage and appeal, and at Zodiak Kids Studios we can’t wait to start visualising it for the next generation of pre-schoolers, who are sure to become fans,” said Michael Carrington, CEO, Zodiak Kids Studios.
“It’s the right time and the right team to bring Mumfie to a whole new world of fans in the 21st century,” added Allcroft.
