BBC Two begins Building Cars Live
UK public channel BBC Two has commissioned a 2x90mins series that uncover the world of car manufacturing.
Building Cars Live is the latest in a long line of … Live formats from the BBC, which will coproduce the show with The Open University.
It will see ex-Top Gear presenter James May, Kate Humble (Volcano Live, Airport Live) and Ant Anstead broadcasting live from a busy British car factory, the BMW MINI plant in Oxford.
“Building Cars Live will take BBC Two viewers right under the bonnet of the car manufacturing industry,” said BBC Two controller Kim Shillinglaw. “Broadcasting live from the car factory is a really exciting way to reveal the science, engineering and expertise behind the cars on our roads.
May, who presented Top Gear until fellow presenter Jermy Clarkson was effectively fired for hitting a producer, said: “I can’t wait to build a car. Live.”
