Eccho Rights adds Japanese kids prank show

Sweden-based Eccho Rights has acquired distribution rights to a hidden-camera prank show from Japan in which toys come to life to help kids understand the world around them.

Fantasy Friends is from Asahi Broadcasting Company Japan, which has been airing it for the past three years.

The warm-hearted format sees a comic presenter talk to children via toys equipped with hidden speakers. Parents watch from a secret room as the children reveal their inner thoughts.

Asahi recently sold its format Wizard Chef to Sony Pictures Television-owned Embassy Row. This marked the first time the broadcaster has shipped a format into the US.
