Rod Perth to stand down as NATPE boss in 2016
Rod Perth will step down as boss of NATPE next year.
Perth took over from Rick Feldman in 2012 and has overseen the shift of the not-for-profit industry group’s flagship market and event to Miami.
Under his leadership, NATPE’s European event has also relocated, from Budapest, Hungary, to Prague, Czech Republic.
He has renewed his contract with NATPE until February 2016, at which time he will join the NATPE board of directors. The industry group said that he will help it find a new chief executive.
Perth will step down after NATPE’s Miami event next year.
“These actions we are taking reflect the culmination of a multi-year turnaround effort made possible by all of the success we’ve achieved during Rod’s watch,” said NATPE board chairman Jordan Levin.
Perth, a former president of USA Network Entertainment and co-founder of ReelzChannel, said: “It’s been a whirlwind three years and I am proud that, along with the teamwork of this great staff and an energised board, we have successfully repositioned NATPE with a strategy that is broad and inclusive, and one that reflects the dynamic changes that are having a profound impact on our business.
“Given my family priorities, I recently began discussing with the board how I could make an orderly transition from day-to-day duties, and this contract extension will encourage a thoughtful transition to new leadership.”
