Broadcasters take to Walking the Nile
A raft of broadcasters have acquired four-part adventure series Walking the Nile.
Channel Nine in Australia and Choice TV New Zealand have both bought the series, which tracks Levison Wood’s gruelling nine-month walk along the River Nile.
UK broadcaster Channel 4 originally ordered the show from indie October Films and advertising firm and programme financier GroupM Entertainment
Other buyers of the show, which is distributed by Sky Vision, include Canada’s Blue Ant Media, RTL in the Netherlands, Servus TV in Austria, Autentic in Germany, DR Denmark, AMC Networks Hungary, Latvian Television and Greece’s Nerit TV.
The distributor has shopped another adventure series, Xtreme Endurance, to several broadcasters.
The 4x60mins show follows former Welsh rugby player, Richard Parks as he tackles arduous endurance events in preparation for a record-breaking solo walk to the South Pole.
Blue Ant Media, Choice TV New Zealand , DR Denmark, UR Sweden, YLE Finland, Latvian TV and Nerit TV have all acquired the series, which aired on Channel 5 in the UK.
