Kids VOD service gets Musti

A free-to-view VOD platform for kids has acquired has acquired an animated series based on classic European character Musti.

Musti, plus a pair of kids telemovies, A Very Wompkee Christmas and The Hidden Trasure of Wompkee Wood.

The new programmes will be offered via Popcornfilx, an ad-supported on-demand service available via connected apps, and its younger incarnation, Popcornflix Kids.

More than 50 epsiodes of Musti will be available. The brand, created in 1969, is centred on an adventurous kitten that lives in an animal world.

Popcornfilm Kids already offers kids programmes including Big Comfy Couch and Call of the Wild. It also distributes classic cartoons such as Popeye.

“It can be tough these days for parents to find affordable, age-appropriate content to keep children entertained,” said David Fannon, executive vice president at Screen Media Ventures-owned Popcornflix.

“Popcornflix Kids makes it easy by providing kid-friendly content accessible online, via a free app on a mobile device or on streaming TV via free apps on Roku, top gaming consoles and smart TVs.”
