TV4 installs new programming boss
Swedish free and pay TV broadcaster TV4 Group has promoted Catherine Wiernik to programming director, general TV, taking on the role formerly held by Åsa Sjöberg.
Sjöberg was last year named as content director for the group as part of a wider reorganisation of the Swedish broadcaster’s content department that also saw Wiernik named as head of the group’s acquisitions and formats unit.
in her new role, Wiernik will be responsible for the activities of TV4’s general programming, acquisitions and drama units. She will report to Sjöberg.
Programming will be headed by Jakob Hanssen, who will take over programming from Maria Mowbray in February, while within the acquisitions unit, Maria Lidén will take responsibility for free TV and Bo Thörnwall for premium TV. Drama will be headed by Josefine Tengblad.
Wiernik said that the group was now focused on optimising digital rights across all platforms and windows, as well as finding synergies between departments and create content that worked across linear and digital platforms.
