National Geographic Channel in the US has greenlit The Raft, a survivalist unscripted series from multi platform studio Electus.
The show follows a pair of two-man rafts that battle to stay alive in treacherous ocean conditions.
Electus produces the show in association with Catalina Entertainment, and has international format rights. It was at MIPCOM this week pushing the format to buyers.
Electus’ Chris Grant and Corie Henson executive produce alongside Brian Catalina, Kristina Wood and Fred Pichel from Catalina. Eric Lange EPs for Nat Geo.
“The concept of being stranded at sea is filled with mystery and danger and water is a global landscape that hasn’t yet been truly explored,” said Henson, executive VP, unscripted TV of Electus. “The Raft is a social experiment that looks at what people will do when they are pushed to the limit.”
