Branco, Coffin expand Turner roles
Turner Broadcasting has added responsibility for the African market to its French market chief Pierre Branco’s remit and has added Africa to the responsibilities of its current distribution and business development for France.
Branco has been given the title vice-president for southern Europe and Africa and general manager, France, Portugal and Africa, reporting to Jaime Ondarza, senior vice-president, southern Europe and Africa.
He was previously vice-president and general manager for Turner Broadcasting System France, responsible for the broadcaster’s kids brands and TCM in the French market.
Turner has also named Guillaume Coffin as head of distribution and business development for France and Africa, adding Africa to his current responsibilities.
“I’m very pleased that Pierre accepted this new role,” said Ondarza. ” He has done an amazing job in France and, more recently, Portugal, delivering great editorial and financial results for Turner in these territories. It will be a privilege for me to work with him on Africa.
“We trust that, under his leadership, the team will achieve the ambitious goals we have for this important market, creating long term value for our brands and channels in the region and developing opportunities for strong and solid business growth.”
The news follows Ondarza’s promotion earlier this year as part of a restructure that saw Domingo Corral exiting the business after 15 years.
