New plan for Kreiz MIP keynote

Maker Studios’ Ynon Kreiz is to deliver a keynote speech at MIPCOM, six months after he was due to talk at MIPTV.

Ynon KreizKreiz will deliver an address as part of MIPCOM’s Media Mastermind Keynote Series on Monday, October 13 at the Cannes market.

The executive has been executive chairman and CEO of multichannel operator Maker since may 2013, having exited his post at Endemol the year prior.

He was due to deliver a keynote at Cannes’ other major TV event, MIPTV, in April, but this did not happen. Maker had a big presence at the confab regardless, with president of international René Rechtman appearing at the MIP Digital Fronts.

MIPTV closely followed the news The Walt Disney Company was buying Maker for an initial US$500 million.

In his keynote, Kreiz will discuss this year’s MIPCOM theme, ‘The Global Quest for Original Content’, plus how leading MCN Maker packages original online video to create successful digital brands.Maker current scores around 8.5 billion monthly views and has 550 millon subscribers.

MIPCOM organizer Reed MIDEM earlier this week announced Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos as another Media Mastermind keynote.
