Finland’s Yellow consolidates prodcos

Finnish producer Yellow Film & Television is consolidating its subsidiary production companies as the company celebrates its twentieth birthday this autumn.

Yellow-owned Ten Years Productions, StoryOf and Story of Sports will be merged into Yellow, with each label now operating out of a new office in Helsinki.

Yellow is one of Finland’s top independent producers. It is behind upcoming scripted YLE drama Nurses, which launches on October 29, plus comedy Kimmo, entertainment series YleLeaks, MTV3 drama Roba and TV5 comedy Justimus, and a host of non-scripted shows such as MTV3’s Putous. It has also produced local movies.

The company recently welcomed MTV3 formats boss Pete Paavolainen to its ranks. He became head of development this month.

Last year, Yellow poached Milla Bruneau from rival Metronome to become its CEO, non-scripted.

Scandinavian Nordic World distributor has previously taken Yellow formats to the international market.
