ITV renews deal with Japanese distributor
ITV Studios has renewed a longstanding deal with Intervision, which will continue to represent its shows in Japan.
Intervision has been repping ITV shows in the country since 1965, with notable deals including Agatha Christie’s Poirot being shopped to Japanese pubaster NHK, Disappearing World to commercial channel NTV and Brideshead Revisited to pay TV broadcaster WOWOW.
The Japanese firm also set up an ITV branded block on the Imagica satellite channel, which will kick off in November with ITV Studios shows including Mr Selfridge (pictured).
Augustus Dulgaro, executive VP sales, Asia Pacific, ITV Studios Global Entertainment said: “The renewal of our deal with Intervision for the fiftieth year is a significant achievement. Intervision has a deep understanding of our brand and, as illustrated by our recent deal with Imagica BS for the ITV Collection programming block, finds the perfect outlets for our programming in Japan.”
