Paramount agrees first-look deal with True Detective producer

Paramount Television has struck a three-year first-look deal with Anonymous Content, the US production company behind the critically acclaimed HBO series True Detective.

Paramount will produce and distribute Anonymous projects under the terms of the deal and the first project the pair will work on is a TV series based on Caleb Carr’s 1994 novel The Alienist, about a team investigating gruesome murders in 1896 New York.

“We’re very excited to be collaborating with Anonymous Content as we continue to establish Paramount Television as a home for creative talent and find partners who share in our vision for compelling and original television programming,” said Amy Powell, president of Paramount Television.

Anonymous makes movies and commercials as well as TV series.
