Metronome brand finished as Shine Nordics is born
Metronome Film & Television is no more, as it rebrands as Shine Nordics to move in line with parent company Shine Group.
Metronome, which comprises twelve companies across the Scandinavian region, began operating under its new name yesterday.
“The desire to change name came from the MDs within the Metronome Group, who unanimously felt that Shine Nordics is simpler and more relevant to their business in 2014,” said Gary Carter, chairman, Shine Group, Northern Europe.
“Shine Nordics clarifies the relationship to the parent company and better reflects the company’s role within a truly international production group.”
Shine Nordics now comprises Meter Television; STO-CPH Produktion; Filmlance International; Friday TV AB in Sweden; Rubicon TV and Metronome Spartacus in Norway; Shine Finland and Metronome Productions and associate company Heartland in Denmark.
Individual prodcos will be unaffected by the change.
The group, which is the largest production entity in the Nordic region, became part of Shine Group in 2009 when it was acquired for
SEK 719 million (US$110 millon).
Former FremantleMedia COO Carter caused a stir at MIPTV yesterday when he questioned the formats boom coming out if Israel, and linked the territory’s spate of deals for shows such as Rising Star to good marketing.
