Comedy Central bringing Amy Poehler to MIPTV
Comedy Central is flying Amy Poehler to Cannes for a MIPTV session about her new comedy series Broad City.
Poehler executive produces the series, which has been performing well on Comedy Central in the US. She will be on a panel session discussing the show alongside Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, the exec producers and creators of the original web series that paved the way for the cable show.
Kent Alterman, president, content development and original programming, Comedy Central US and Caroline Beaton, senior VP, international programme sales, Viacom International Media Networks will also feature on the panel.
MTV has already greenlit season two of the show, which features cameos from Poehler and others comics. It is set in New York and is billed as an odd couple comedy. It started out as a web series in 2009.
