Nordic World seals indie first-look deals
Nordic World has agreed first-look deals with four indie producers in Denmark and Sweden.
The distributor, which is owned by Nordic broadcasters TV2 Norway and TV4 Sweden, has sealed agreements with STV and Doceye in Denmark, OTW in Sweden and Feelgood in Norway.
Following the signing of the deals, Nordic World will sell the producers’ formats in the international market.
Further afield, Nordic World has also cut a representation deal with Welsh indie producer Cwmni Da. It already sells the Welsh firm’s Farm Factor format and has shopped the farming reality show to CCTV in China and DR in Denmark among others.
Nordic World COO Jan Salling (pictured) said: “In an increasingly crowded and cutthroat entertainment industry, the competition to secure premium rights is becoming fiercer by the day. While Nordic World seeks opportunities outside its home market to maintain its growth momentum, it is also vital that it remains the preferred partner for the most creative producers and rights-owners in its Nordic heartland.”
