News brief: Lifetime dropping Drop Dead Diva

US cable net Lifetime has said that comedy drama series Drop Dead Diva will come to an end after its upcoming sixth season.

The Sony Pictures Television-produced show follows a model who dies and finds her soul resurfacing in the body of a talented, overweight lawyer.

The body-swap series was created by Josh Berman (Bones, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) who also serves as executive producer.
