Paramount+ lands Lollapalooza music docuseries from MTV, FunMeter & C3 Presents

Paramount+ has picked up a docuseries exploring the history and impact of the Lollapalooza music festival for its service in North America.

Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza is being produced by Paramount’s MTV Entertainment Studios and FunMeter, in partnership with C3 Presents and Michael John Warren (Fade to Black) directing.

The three-parter, which debuted at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, explores how the festival started out as a farewell tour for the band Jane’s Addiction but rose to launch a cultural movement.

Jane’s Addiction star Perry Farrell reconnects with what the event has become and reflects on the festival’s cultural significance across multiple genres and decades.

Paramount is launching the doc in Canada and the US on Tuesday, 21 May and on Wednesday, 22 May in the UK, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The series is executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Amanda Culkowski (MTV Entertainment Studios), James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte (FunMeter), Daniel Gibbs and Mat Whittington (C3 Presents), and Brian Levy (Entertainment 360).
