BT up for the fight with UFC deal
UK telco BT has secured pay TV rights to show European and Asian fights from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
BT will show the fights on its BT Sport channel. The deal with the UFC gives it live bouts from the Emea Fight Nights and delayed broadcasts of the Asia Fight Nights.
The telco and mixed martial arts fighting championship already have a deal for UFC global events.
The extended agreement starts with UFC Fight Night London: Gustafsson vs. Manuwa, which takes place in the O2 Arena on March 8.
Garry Cook, executive VP and MD of UFC EMEA, said: “[BT has] been a fantastic partner of the UFC here in the UK and this will only strengthen our relationship.”
Simon Green, head of BT sport said: “UFC is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and we’re very happy to be adding these new Fight Nights to our UFC content.”
