US film financer Indomitable launches TV division

US film financier Indomitable Entertainment has launched a TV division.

The new unit will work up drama projects and reality series and US TV executive Jon Ferro has been brought on to run the business. He was head of TV and digital sales at Lionsgate until 2011 and starts at Indomitable immediately.

Ferro will be responsible for expanding the company into TV production finance and sales, and will report directly to Indomitable founder and CEO Dominic Ianno.

“We view expansion into the TV business as a perfect fit for the film financing expertise that Indomitable Entertainment provides independent film producers and creators,” said Ianno. “We are very fortunate to have Jon take on this leadership role where his knowledge and sales experience with independent films, digital media and TV series further bolsters our company’s position between the finance markets of New York and London, independent TV and Film Producers, and domestic and international distributors and networks.”

Ferro has been at the NATPE programming market in Miami this week. He said: “The application of independent financing to the TV business is growing and a boon for the independent producer and show-runner.”
